Beneath the surface, another world begins.
In my underwater worlds, I imagine a universe where colours roam freely, and fish, plants, shapes and figures meet in a landscape that belongs to painting alone.
I do not try to reproduce the underwater world faithfully. I prefer to invent it.
The sea becomes a place for play and imagination, sometimes peaceful, sometimes strange, sometimes inhabited by unexpected creatures.
I like the eye to wander through my paintings, discovering a detail, a shape or a colour, then finding another.
Underwater, as in my painting, anything is possible.
It is a space of freedom, imagination and colour.
Here are some of my dives into this universe.
Welcome to my underwater worlds.
