I have been painting for many years, with the same desire: to explore painting without being confined to a single approach.
Over time, my work has been shown in different venues and exhibitions. Some paintings have met their audience; others have remained in my studio.
My artistic journey cannot be summed up by exhibitions alone.
It also includes all the paintings created over the years, kept, rolled up, revisited, sometimes forgotten and later rediscovered.
Saron-sur-Aube — 29 and 30 June 2024
This was the final exhibition in Saron-sur-Aube. I exhibited in the château’s glasshouse and showcased my double-sided ISAYOTTAS.
An exhibition celebrating the meeting of art and gardens.
An unforgettable moment.
Mon Logis — 15 November to 15 December 2013
An exhibition in an enormous space with large ISAYOTTAS.
Troyes — 3 January to 10 February 2012
An exhibition of underwater worlds.
Some of my creations raise a simple question: where can they be exhibited?
This is particularly true of my TENISAFARA.
A TENISAFARA can measure up to 10 metres long and 1.60 metres high. It consists of five paintings forming one continuous work.
The canvas can be divided into five sections.
Finding a venue capable of accommodating a work of this size is not easy.
Exhibition spaces are not always large enough, walls may not allow the entire work to be displayed, and installation can be challenging.
So some of my large paintings remain in my studio.
I do not mind.
A painting does not need to be exhibited to exist.
I continue to paint, experiment and create new formats.
And when an opportunity arises to take a work out of the studio and show it, it becomes a new adventure.
Over the years, my studio has become a true creative territory, filled with paintings and projects.
ISAYOTTAS, TENISAFARA, underwater worlds and all my other paintings are part of this story.
I do not paint solely to exhibit.
I paint because it is essential to me.
Exhibitions are moments when paintings leave the studio and meet new eyes.
But some are still waiting for their space.
Perhaps one day, a sufficiently large venue will allow a TENISAFARA to unfold in its entirety.
My journey continues, painting after painting.
